How did Nick realize that Cliff was the murderer, right before he got shot?

He was looking at his liquor bottle with that bug in it. I think I missed something there…

It’s the scene where Steve and Milla are talking in the tent about the other couple possibly being the killers. The question must be raised…if Steve and Milla KNEW they themselves were the killers (it was pretty easy to figure that out before the scene) then for who’s benefit is the conversation they’re having? Ours? This may seem an odd point to bring up but, why would they even discuss it unless they knew we (the viewers) were observing them? This just seems like a major scripting faux pas rather than a valid red herring to me. Comments?

What a great metaphorical reference about the scorpion part.

I need some similar movies, with twists and plots that are hard to figure out and make sense at the end. I didn’t expect this movie to be that good.

    9/10

here’s one of his earliest scripts that he wrote over 20-years ago:

    http://www.horrorlair.com/scripts/alien3_twohy.html

And what’s funny, is that David Twohy himself briefly mentions his old "Alien 3" script on his website, while talking about the petition that drafts him as writer/director of an "Alien vs. Predator" reboot film. Especially considering he was also asked to helm the first "AvP", but scheduling conflicts prevented him from working on the movie.

And here’s one of the Brute Alien that appears in his script: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3013/3009890389_cef586631f_o.jpg

And if that’s not enough, here’s a badass picture of Riddick fighting the Predator, using only bladed weapons: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2470/3687482384_dfc9c3c186_b.jpg

And for those who might ask me later, yes, Twohy himself did see those 2 concept art pieces which i’ve talked to him about (which he liked, by the way).

This movie is terrible and highly, highly and I mean HIGHLY overrated witha score of 6.5. If at least a few people agree with me and reply I’ll elaborate on my topic because at least then I’ll know for myself I’m not nuttier than squirrel crap.

what a plot hole. The killers go through the whole movie thinking the other couple are the killers so the audience will be fooled and dumbfounded by the amazing plot twist. even with Hollywood’s low standards, there is no way this movie would’ve ever been made 10, 20, or 30 years ago. movies like this are the reason the movie industry is failing. that’s the single dumbest "plot twist" I’ve ever seen. I guess everybody who saw it were just supposed to forget that the couple, who were actually the killers, went through most of the movie afraid for their lives. Thanks for taking 2 hours of my life that I’ll never get back.

IF he was the killer the whole time, then what was the point about freaking out on google searching for the killers…

I only saw this once and loved it even though my husband figured it out about half way through!! Anyway, I was thinking about the first time Cliff and Cydney met Kale and Cleo, when they were hitchhiking…were Cliff and Cydney initially thinking maybe they could "become" Kale and Cleo next? Because it seemed like Cliff was cool with giving them a ride until he looked in the mirror and saw Kale’s tattoo; then all of a sudden he started acting weird and lying about where they were headed. I was kind of thinking maybe Cliff realized after seeing the tattoo that he knew there was no way he could pull off being Kale.

Probably just over-thinking things…Because really, if he couldn’t pull off being someone with a tattoo, why would he think he could pull off being someone with a plate in the back of his head.

The arrogance found on the IMDb message boards is astounding at times.

    SPOILER

What was your first clue that Cliff and Cydney were not who they seemed to be? For me, it was pretty early. In the first scene, they identify Cydney as being from Pacific Palisades, but she came across as more naive and unsophisticated than you would expect of a girl from a rich, fashionable neighborhood. Soon afterward, she called Cliff a "screenplay writer." That’s a pretty surprising error for somebody from Westside LA to make. Although I didn’t know for sure that they were killers at that point, it was obvious that something about them was not right. Cydney was not a good enough actress (or not worldly enough) to play her role. Cliff, on the other hand, was totally believable as a nerd.

I thought the fight between Cydney and Gina was great, very realistic and suspensful. Milla is one dirty fighter lol shes always kicking ass in movies :)I think the girls upstaged the guys in this movie by far.

    The ‘Do Not Revive’ couple

    The ‘Jedi’ Couple

    The ‘Psychotic’ couple

and who would survive, if the situation happened in REALITY?

I started this a while back, but it unfortunately disappeared. Time for it to re-appear :P

SO yeah, for a film that’s all intense and suspenseful, there was some good dark humor in this movie. What scene made you LOL hardest?

For me, it’s when Giele is trying to get the guy on the cell phone to call the police after throwing Cyd into the water. Sad thing is, we can all relate to her. Second being the part where Cliff gives up trying to convince those four guys so he just shoots them.

Once we saw that chick look at the pics in the camera and see the real bride and groom, we as the audience get it right away. No need to do that long and drawn out flashback. This movie was ridiculous anyway.

I have the Theatrical Version on DVD but I hear there’s an Unrated Edition also. What’s the difference between the two? Anything major? No alternate versions are listed here on IMDB.

When they were in the tent, the 2 main characters were talking about "their escape" and thinking what kind of excuse they would use ("because we think you are the killers…"). Why would they be saying that since THEY were the killers?

Second, he shows Milla his phone with info about the killers and again they are alluding to the fact that they think the other two are the killers. Why would they be saying that?

i didnt hate the movie but didnt love it either, but my problem is when the killers are alone through out the movie why is it that they stay in character, in the end it didnt make much sense, plus the "twist" really wasnt all that suprising

And just give us the name of two movies. No need to spoil anything for somebody else.

    Mine are "The Sixth Sense"

and "The Life of David Gale"

I don’t figure this one is going to crack the top two, but if the twist pleased you, then by all means mention it!

I just think using verbiage in the trailers like "the twist you’ll never see coming" is pretty detrimental to the theater life of a movie.
