Did anyone notice something about this fight scene? I tell you what I noticed, this was the only fight I have ever seen Steven Seagal in where he doesn’t totally dominate the fight. This is the only fight I have ever seen him in where his opponent actually has it in him to kick seagal’s ass.

Not even screwface in Marked For Death gave him that much of a fight. In every one of Seagal’s films, Seagal always easily beats his opponents with no problem. Sometimes even beating up six and seven guys at the same time without even getting a single mark or blemish on him.

Well DMX clearly refused to let Seagal dominate and bully him if you guys haven’t already noticed.

Q.)What can a PC Tech do when He has a challenging problem?

    A.)Get angry!

Is this Clown an actor? If he is a tough guy, nobody told me.A stone cold

    "pretend tough guy" Ha Ha

The only "MAN" in the movie is Steven Segal! I was in the Air Borne Rangers

and they said he can kill anyone with one hand.

Did anyone else notice that Duke’s character nodded during the gun fight much like he did in Predator? Also at the end he mentions to Seagal that he fought in Vietnam which (I believe) was around the same time the Predator film took place.

Just curious if anyone else had the same thoughts.

The book is ten times better then the movie, they turned it into a hollywood blockbuster like they always do. the only thing the same is pretty much the character names. first off george clarke in the book is white and hes racist towards black people. if they would of actuallly followed the book and not of used steven segal as the main actor it could of actually been a good movie!

The one thing I never understood was the fact is that in the scene in the club where he beats the 2 guards without getting a scratch makes no sense. I know the way he fights is by hitting pressure points and overpowering his enemies but the fact that he can hit that big Sumo guy and make him fly like that when the guy was stronger than him with the bottle makes no sense. That’s just one thing that bugged the crap out of me when I saw the film for the first time.

Can some gun buff here explain to me, how seagal can repeatedly fire 2-3 seconds of automatic fire (hundreds of rounds) with a Glock SEMI-automatic pistol? You can clearly hear and see that it’s full auto.

I mean, has the man some kind of special pistol that i’ve never heard of?

    What is this?

He used a glock 18. It’s a selective fire gun that can fire in both semi auto and full auto modes. Hope this helps

Okay it had its low moments but the plot of most of SS’s movies are pretty thin anyway. This movie has absolutely the best fight scenes – the disco bouncers, the Car thieves, the macho cop taser fest, etc. Also this was the first Segal movie to have anything at all worth laughing about. Tom Arnold was great too. Overall this movie is far more enjoyable than any other I have seen

With all the bad movies that Steven Seagal has made over the past few years with only a few good ones sprinkled in, this is one of his better ones. There was some things that were laughable, though, such as his revolver shooting like an automatic weapon and legs making whooshing sounds when they kicked.

One of the things that I really enjoyed seeing in this movie was Seagal taking some hits. In most movies, he can go up against what seems like 20 men, some who have martial arts skills, and walk away without taking so much as a punch but he didn’t win hands down in the fight scenes in this movie.

The story was a typical Steven Seagal. Good cop/agent fighting crime/corruption, so no surprise there, but the story had some interesting twists.

I also liked the car chase scenes. They were done very well and showed some new and very well planned/choreographed wipe-outs of both man and machine.

    Geesh people are so stuck-up, 5.3/10 ?

I mean it’s not a masterpiece, but it’s well done and funny… it was great at the time to see eagal losen up a little. It’s a light, entertaining action-comedy movie, and it deserves at LEAST a 6.0 or 6.5.

Now I bet half of the peopel who voted went like : Duuuh, Seagal isnt making anything good anymore, 1 / 10

    God I hate you all

never hitting their target. I have to ask, where does Seagal keep the 20-30 magazines he surely needs for his pistol whenever there’s a shootout? Every time he fires 7-8 rounds at a time so at best that’s one reload for every two scenes.

I just watched the opening scene of this movie. Instantly recognizable downtown Toronto is there. Roy Thomson Hall. The Canadian Broadcasting Centre. You wouldn’t use NYC to represent LA, so why this? Also, anyone who’s been to the Detroit Indy Grand Prix can tell you that falling off the Belle Isle Bridge (actually the MacArthur Bridge) is hardly the dramatic fall shown in the movie. Probably less than 10 yards.

I am a huuuuuuge action movie fan, and I remember even since this movie came out (I was 8) all I wanted to do was see this movie. I saw it last year, and my agony was unending as the movie just seemed to get worse and worse. Yeah ok Seagal is a *beep* ass actor, but he was alright in Under Siege. And DMX isn’t the greatest either, but he was sick in Cradle 2 The Grave, and Isaiaha Washington sucks dick in everything he does (I could not honestly say I like any movie that he has done, and the fact that he is in a movie brings the whole movie down, alot like that piece of sh*t Paul Walker.)

Sorry for that deviation, but I must say that not one of the action scenes were at all decent, and the music choices were SOOOOOOOOOOO bad. HOW DOES NO ONE NOTICE THIS!!! THE MUSIC IS SOOOOOOOO BAD!!! it just takes away from the whole film,

it goes like this… Seagal is in a fight… ok this is alright, punch, punch, sh*tty ass music starts playing… OMG!!! this is soo bad, mute the sound, ok this fight is decent.

So do not see this film if you are one of those ppl looking to see if it is worth your while, and those who are unfortunate enough to have seen this movie, and are coming to add your two cents, I welcome it, and please, share your comments, your hate for this movie (or me… i don’t care i love debating)

I need help finding the music for two scenes toward the end of the film.

The first is the music that plays when Boyd pulls up in the yellow Hummer to meet with Mulcahy. Before she says, "Nice inconspicuous vehicle, Boyd." Is this an instrumental version of a song, or original score. If it’s the score, anyone know where I can find it?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCl4TBQVS6g&feature=related (8:40 – 9:15)

The second is the soft music playing when Boyd gets Clark (Isiah Washington) at home to come with him on the final fight (when Clark hands his baby son to his wife). The music is soft, bares a strong resemblance to Phil Collins’ "In the Air Tonight" or Dream Academy’s "Power to Believe" (an instrumental version of which plays in PLANES TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES when Steve Martin is riding on the el train just before the end of the movie). This is most likely to be an original score. Anyone know the track name and again where it can be found?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Z8bQQXPfYw&feature=related (4:23 – 5:01 ) Is a little difficult to hear. Is very soft.

    Much thanks!

How similiar was Orin Boyd in the books. Was he a hardcore fighter? Paticularly some kind of Krav Maga-type training, really a mixture of aikido and striking, but. It was made to look raw, yet advanced, simple, yet meticulous. Different then many of his newest overly-domineering fights.

Anyway, I am a Seagal fan. I don’t know how he is in person, I do know he has encountered trouble as a cop (he has been one for some time) and is a jack of trades. Pistols, guitar, 3 different martial arts and combat styles. Grandmaster of the Katana and other swordsl ike that, wakazari I think?

They should really do a sequel for this. Seagal could still pull it off, I thought Boyd was a unique cop character. Almost a Dirty Harry with his fists, but his attitude was qutie a bit different. None of his spirtual or overly-political views (much of his liberal ones I agree with, although I disagree with all religion)…it weas just strong action with a few twists, some you could see, some not.

I heard there was a book series on him and they were even darker and grittier then this. I would love to see it filmed in a really gritty type of film layer, dark but not too dark you can’t see anything. See Boyd really get screwed and hung out to dry. Isaih Washington could return or not, get replaced. I think Terry Crews would be a cool replacement as his partner. They could joke about who is the tougher guy, maybe get in a scuffle and stalemate (much more believable then DMX’s crap).

Have a really badass fighter, even Jet Li be in it. It would make an outstanding last-great for both of them. I would love to see the face-off between the two. JEt Li wouldn’t mind loosing in the fight, but Steven I think would let him have some good licks in. J

I apologize for the spelling and grammical errors, I am really doped out and just had major surgery lol.

Beyond doubt. He wasn’t superhuman in this, got roughed up here and there, and used guns instead of the usual martial arts. Also, the usually annoying Arnold was effective here, as well as the fat black guy. The only other Seagal film I feel was as good was his first-ABOVE THE LAW-although GLIMMER MAN was watchable.

As title, how did he know? As soon as Orin called Frank he said "Mulcahy’s dead, you fled the scene…", how did he know he was even there?

If they met up on the car park roof then that would indicate they wanted some secrecy.

Sorry, couldn’t resist. There’s alway some post comparing a bad movie to some classic.

For the record, this movie seemed to go on forever. The car dealer scene was funny. Seagall’s gun on the bridge that never ran out of bullets and fired like a machine gun. How about the punks trying to steal his car!! Have you even seen such a PC group of thugs? The only person they left out was a middle aged white guy.

But it is fun watching Seagal fight.

Im hoping a Coronation Street/Exit Wounds fan (yes i’m sure there’s one) can help me. About 33.34mins into Exit Wounds Steven Seagals character rescues a Maria from a hostage situation and she looks so much like Samia Ghadie/Smith who, ironically, plays Maria in Coronation Street. Anyone know if this is her?

IMDb credits her as Jenny Celly, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0148171 with no other acting roles but both age wise and time frame wise she fits the bill as Samia.

This is actually a really solid film w/ good acting. Everyone does a good job, and the storyline is well constructed. I have owned this flick on DVD for several years, and just recently realized that it is much better than it had to be for the genre. Incidentally, Jill Hennessey is ridicously good looking in this movie.
