She should have stayed with Sameer.

I adore this movie. There are so many beautiful scenes. I love a lot of them, but I think my favorite is when Sameer is leaving and Nandini runs to the balcony. She doesn’t move even when her mother starts dragging her away. I cry every time I see it.

Filming in Budapest instead of Rome

Made up insulting, stereotypical Italian – just ridiculous

Awful acting from the Western actors

Ridiculous scene after ridiculous scene- the two crazy robbers in the car going all over the road

What the hell!? She got shot for NO reason, completely unrealistic

One of the most overlong films I have ever seen! JUST FIND HIM ALREADY!

What the hell was Nandini’s problem? She acted like such a b*tch all the time her husband was trying to help her find the love of her life!

Does anybody know where I can find the instrumental song that plays during many scenes and during the credits. Also, for those who have the DVD it plays during the menu.

p.s It isnt the Love Theme that plays.

re: "Straight from the Heart"-director Bhansali may have meant no real harm but trying to pass off Budapest for (Rome?) Italy is insulting! … well, at least to Western viewers who’d know the difference. Had an American director set part of a film in India but shot it in, say San Francisco, wouldn’t Indian audiences be offended? Not a big deal, but it IS a big deal. Just when the film (finally) gets interesting after ‘Nandini’s suicide attempt, it is ruined by this laughable city-substitution. Bhansali should overdub his own film and say that ‘Sameer’ went to Budapest. Much easier on the viewer. I hate such needless ‘flubs’. "Chariots of Fire", an otherwise great film, is ruined when 50 star U.S. flags show up in the 1920s! Why don’t directors care enough about their audience(s) to accurately portray a particular time and place in their films? HJ

Jonesh54 – don’t you think that the most ridiculous thing, though, is passing off made-up gibberish as Italian? Anyone with some knowledge of languages will see that this is clearly not any kind of language – I really could not understand the need to do that. If the actors cannot be bothered to learn a few phrases in a foreign language, even phonetically, then use a voiceover. Or avoid them speaking in the foreign language. The choice made here is insulting and pathetic.
