So I’m watching this on Hulu… and it didnt’ show what happened to those hitchhikers that tried to rob Lance Henricksen and his lady and it didn’t show anything graphic when the waitress’ throat got cut. So far there’s been no real cursing either. Am I watching an edited down version?

It says Fearnet on it, and was rated TV-MA.

I was surprised that this wasn’t directed by Cameron. Just found out that they were married.

Jen is one hell of a beauty.

Can’t believe how beautiful this picture is.

Bought Godzila a long with Near Dark. Godzila is only eleven years old, but Near Dark, which is nearly twenty-four years old, beats it by a mile.

Incredible picture, beautifully sharp and the blacks are black not a misty grey.

Ok, I just saw this film for the first time…literally 5 minutes ago. I am so confused about how the vampires were cured of being vampires? A blood transfusion from someone? I didn’t get it. Does anyone have any info on it or is it just a convoluted, non-sensical cure that is never explained? I thought I possibly missed some explaining on what exactly happened.

this may be redundant on this board, but holy F, this scene is savage. the desensitized nature of the vampires as they slaughter is phenomenally acted. there is something so incredibly sinister about henriksens detached smirk/bemusement as his unhinged lackey (paxton) goes berserk. even the details when they cut the bartenders throat the camera pans to the kid who is completely indifferent as he sings along to the juke box. damn, classic, classic cinema.

I watched this last night because I had heard that it was such a good movia and that the only reason peopple did not see ot was because it came out the same year as Lost Boys so I was in Best Buy and saw it as soon as i walked in to the movie section. But when I get home to wath it it took all of my energy and patience to finish it. It was just not very good. I will admit, I liked the bar scene but that was about it. I was excited at first when they introduced all of the characters but that was it. They just give us a name and we are supposed tojust accept them for that. I would have liked to have seen more about the individual vampires. All except Homer. I remember him from something else and I have always thought he just the ugliest kid ever. All in all I was sadly disappointed beccause I was looking formard to watching a hidden gem so to speak.

She just turns me on every time I see her.

I wanna know, am I alone on this?

I’d love to be seduced and "turned" by her.

    That’s a fantasy of mine.

That and beating up the "P*ssy" that thought of the REMAKE.

I’m sure the REMAKE will be a success (I hope, actually)

I’ll be there, but they better be very careful with DIAMONDBACK.

She better be just as hot.

    Anyways, back to DIAMONDBACK.

Was she a sexy alluring b*tch or what?

This was partially filmed in the small town I grew up in. In one scene they ended up causing an actual explosion and it freaked everyone out in town that heard it. We could not wait to see the "vampire movie" filmed in town. However due the rating we were not allowed to see it. Saw as an adult and thought it was terrible. Watched it today, not as bad as I remembered. It was fun picking out stuff from my home town it though.

I didnt come hear to be a troll but its just that I rewatched this movie with friends and I hadnt seen it in like 10 years. I realized the movie was kind of a mess. It had little to no character development and slow pacing. The editing was also poor but the cinema tography was impressive. I liked the whole concept and believed it had potential but it just didnt live up to what I remembered. Im sure im in the minority in this opinion.

    Well, you seen much combat?

Ive seen a little on TV.

Take a look, you notice the Jenny Wright’s face is normal while Adrian Pasdar’s face is pale, even though she is more of a vampire than him.

I think they’re trying to go for a Bella/Edward vibe. I know the film was directed by a female but if you she any of Kathryn Bigelow’s films, she directs like a man.

ok, am i the only one who thinks the fact that you can become a non vampire again, is as simple as a blood transfusion?!?!?!?!?!

i have so many promblems with this. it totally perverts the myth of vampires. not to mention the awesomness. if it were that easy to become a human again, heck why dont we all become vampires for a week, just for kicks you know? vampires are supposed to be evil, and D*MNED! once you go vampire, thats it, your soul is bound for h*ll!! by making them human again, so easily and so rediculously is beyond me and missing the point of being a vampire. i simply cannot accept that and call the movie "awesome" in return. because that aspect of the movie was lame, in my educated opinion, very very lame.

Also, a blood transfusion?! is it possible to completely drain someone of all their blood and completely replace it with blood coming from ONE other human, in what seemed like 2 hours? doesnt the doner need to regenerate some blood before giving the recipiant more non contaminated blood? oh, and THANK GOODNESS dad, calab, and mae were all of the same blood type, phew. that was lucky and is no where near a streach of imagination. ahem.

this movie had potential, it fell flat, and i feel cheated because i heard such good things about its cult classic status. it was boring, the characters were bland and the whole cop out regarding turning human again makes it laughable, in my opinion. lets just say, i would rather listen to tangerine dream on a loop for the rest of my life, than see this over rated cult classic again.

but again, this is only MY opinion, and you are all completely entitled to yours, and i respect your opinion and ask you to respect mine. i do not mean this as an attack, im just venting my frustration.

but back to the topic at hand, does anyone else have strong feelings about this blood transfusion thingy, either good or bad? id like to know.

I know they are going to remake this and there’s nothing anyone can do but it. Alot of my favorite movies have been or are being remade which i can live with but this one really doesn’t need it, Sure the music is kinda 80’s but who really cares it really doesn’t bother me that much, If anything it reminds me of a time when Hollywood had originality, And the performacnes all of them are perfect the way they are all they will do is wuss them down for the Twilight fans. I wish Hollywood with start just hiring unknown writers or taking new stuff or ANYTHING! Just stop remaking classics.
