I can’t think of a more fitting name for this movie..

How can a movie this Sh*tty get a 7.8 rating?

It seem that people can tell the difference between funny and just plain stupid

    2/10

This comedy has more humour in it than most and if you watch it several times you’ll notice subtle things you didn’t see before. For example, when Fogell is inside the store to buy the booze, it always makes me chuckle when he drops the cans of beer and then just throws last one down because he’s so nervous. Likewise, when he goes to the checkout and is asked for id, I think it great when he says "Makes me feel young again" and lets out that high pitched giggle. I’d be interested to know what other small and subtle gags people find funny about this film?

Someday a real rain will come and wash all the scum off the streets.

(If you want this to sound more pretentious than it already is – read it with an outrageous french accent and "scandinavian" with "PompusdouchebagLand".. you silly keniggets)

Being scandinavian, I can’t identify with this movie at all. The main characters are supposed to be 17, going on 18, but act like 13 year olds (at least according to scandinavian standards).

They say the most vile things to women which, without a doubt, would result in their nuts crashing into a knee if they ever spoke that way to a woman here.

The plot evolves around two things:

    1. Getting laid.

    2. Getting booze.

This is what scandinavian kids are conserned with when they’re 13-14 and in junior high/lower secondary (15-year olds don’t have these problems).

To say that the plot and characters are juvenile, is an understatement

So; are there any europeans here who can identify with this movie? Or laughed (if so, what made you laugh?)? Please state your country and age as well.

I’m 5 years older than these characters, and when I was their age I (and all of my friends) were conserned with two things as well:

    1. Doing well in school so we could get into a good university.

    2. Getting our drivers license.

Perhaps it’s because our version of "high school" resembles college more than high school or upper secondary, so 16-17 year olds here have a lot more responsibility when it comes to school and their life than american 16-17 year olds do; and so they are generally more mature than their american counterpart.

Which leads to another question, this time to the yanks:

Why did you identify with this movie and/or find it funny?

I think it’s wrong for anybody to have sex outside of marriage. But can we at least agree that is always wrong for teens to have sex?

This movie was the height of mediocrity, but the only thing that really bothered me about it was that McLovin bought over half a dozen bottles of relatively high grade alcohol and a 6-pack of beer for less than a hundred dollars. What state do I need to move to get those prices because it ain’t happening in North Carolina.

What’s this BS that the nerds get the girls?!!!!!!! Like with the nerd with no voice who got laid in this movie. I’ve noticed this BS even on TV. Like on Scrubs and Buffy.

Are they trying to give these guys hope, that somehow they will actually get a girl?

Hope these guys know, that that’s not how it works in real life.

But I doubt. They’ll probably believe this BS.

Just like girls believe that love is really like it is in the movies.

Maybe someone has asked this before, but why does he say that his high school waisted 3 years of his life in the scene where he is walking into the gas station? last i checked, high school is 4 years. Not that its an important part of the movie or anything, but ive always wondered that.

Did they shoot different takes of this movie specifically for a TV version. You could tell they were actually saying different dialogue and not being dubbed.

I was wondering the source of the obvious Vegas references in the movie? It appears the writers and director are not from Vegas so i’m wondering why they have "Clark County Police" which is Las Vegas’s county and "Binions" beer which is a famous downtown Vegas casino.

When this movie was released I read something about the name Mc Lovin sounding like a sexy cheeseburger LOL, which is hilarious, but they never say it in the movie…I have watched it a million times looking for this line, am I missing it somewhere, or is it on an unrated version of the movie? Thanks, it’s just bugging me LOL

I know Seth Rogen and his friend Evan wrote the script. I am curious as to what was real and what was fabricated…?

    1. Becca and Jules? Were they made up and if not, did Seth and Evan actually end up with them?

    2. Fogel, was he really their friend and did he really get a fake ID with McLovin as his name?

    3. If Fogel was a real person, did he and the police officers really have that whole adventure together?

The deleted scene with Seth and Evan at Evan’s house trying to steal the booze with his Johnny Cash joke about his clothes and the one with Seth talking to Jules at the party and being uncomfortable with the Asian kid’s Christopher Walken impression. I don’t know why, but those two scenes made him a hell of a lot more of a relatable and sympathetic character. He came off as an offbeat dork rather than a sex obsessed perv.

I love comedies, but i had to turn this off near the end. I found the humor childish and not funny at all. I don’t believe i chuckled once the entire movie. I hate movies that try to be funny throughout the entire thing and have no point. A real adult humor comedy that I love is Inglorious Basterds. I’m not some 40 year old mom either I’m a 16 year old boy, all kids in my grade thinks it’s so funny but really, grow up.

Funny movie, one of my all time favorite team comedies, but I watched the movie last night and while it has (IMHO) one of those "I can watch this anytime and not get bored with it" qualities few films has, Seth really gets on my nerves.

He is funny, I can relate to his panicky rants, but good god does his personality get old fast. I’d feel so smothered if I were Evan and I think Evan handled it brilliantly.

    Anyone see what I mean?

1st off its a very very funny movie

    Its 2hr35

    Its a Comedy Adventure

So the 1st time you watch it u’ll be laffing out loud at all the vulgar jokes & dialogue as you go on a long ride with 2 friends. After you see it the 1st time you know the jokes, you know whats going to happen , & therefore its no longer funny. So now ur sitting through a movie with no excitement or highpoints for 2hrs & 45 minutes.

Could barely get through it a 2nd time.

I consider Superbad one of the funniest films I’ve ever seen. Since seeing it, I’ve been looking for movies that are on the same level.

A lot of comedies start off well, but the jokes get less (funny) as the film progresses. The 40-Year Old Virgin had me laughing from start to finish.

So what do you think? Any tips? Thanks in advance!
