The condemned and the hunger games have very similar storylines-are they in anyway related?

Thinking is one of the most stressful things I’ve ever come across.

What’s everyone’s opinion on the best kill of the movie?

Personally my favourite was the black American guy and the african chick by the fire, the guy telling the story about how he got made by another chick in the past, and he just wants to get keep some distance for a while. Then he discovers the African chick is long gone after having pulled the trigger on his ankle bomb, he says "oh not again" *BOOM*

… that you don’t need to put a gun against someone’s head to shoot them. For isntance, at the end where the guy gets the gun right near Steve Austin’s head so that Steven Austin could knock the gun out of his hand.

Take the worst of the worst from various prisons and have them compete for a life of freedom; a murderer, a rapist, a child predator, a terrorist, a mobster…

Honestly, this idea will probably never pass in real life right? lol

I mean, when the protagonist blows up that chopper at the end, he doesn’t just kill the producer does he ? No, he kills his COMPLETELY INNOCENT helicopter pilot as well. That makes him a MURDERER, yet he gets to go home to his lady friend and her brats.

Well, what about the wife and kids of the helicopter pilot (or his male partner if he happened to swing that way) ? They don’t get to be reunited with their loved one, do they ? No hugs and kisses and "welcome back"s there, oh no.

So the message this movie sends out to the young and impressionable out there watching is that it is perfectly OK (even bleeding heroic !) to take the lives of people who just happen to be transporting criminals.

Pilot to an evil producer ? BANG, you’re dead, mate.

Taxi cab driver hired to drive a Columbian drug lord to down town Bogota ? Tough titty, here’s a cold blade between your ribs.

Rickshaw driver who just picked up a Dutch arms dealer at the Bangkok Airport ? Kapow, a chop stick through the eyeball.

What is this world coming to ?

Anything and I mean anything that has something to do with WWE should be banned, set on fire and shot.

I would rather watch paint dry or wood rot – as for Steve Austin – well – see subject line

Not one of the contestants were actually from Australia. Instead we had like two Americans, Two Mexicans, four Europeans, whatever. Most of the bloody cast was Australian, including like 6 or 7 of the actual condemned (I think the mexican guy was a kiwi). The film was almost filmed entirely here aswell. The island was obviously somewhere in Queensland, and the forest scenes i’m guessing where somewhere up North, possibly the Daintree. The F.B.I. guys (seeing Inspector Falcon Price was awesome too), the multi-millionaire guy, the people in the pub scene, the main characters girlfriend, the production crew; all of them were Australian.

Would it have been such an objectional thing to include a condemned Australian contestant. After all are our country was at one point a colony for deported convicts. Plus having an Australian contestant might have actually created interest down here.

Im sorry im American and enjoyed the film but if a British SAS commando had you in his sights with any gun you be dead. The SAS are the most highly regarded special forces unit in the world who train our Delta Force and are basically superbly trained killing machines!

Yet Ausin comes out with the win.

I know its a movie and enjoyable but it has to be believeable imo.

I liked The Marine better than The Condemned it was directed a whole lot better.

The only positive thing about condemned i can think of is the very end when stone cold meets up with his wife, they don’t do anything corny like hug or kiss, he drives to her house and the movie ends with stone cold smiling and fades to black, very well done.

Comparing the two films, they’re both supposed to be all about fight scenes and the marine fights scenes are much better than Condemned.

We’ll start with camera angles and cuts. In The Marine the camera is setup so we can see what is happening and its not bouncing around all over the place like in the condemned (like some poor attempt at michael bay stuff.) Also in the condemned when the fights started they cut back to people in the control room, and thats not what the audience wants to see, when a fight starts we want to see the fight. Also they cut from one angle to another making it very hard follow the fight, which is happening a lot these days which sucks.

Now we’ll move on to the fights themselves which are Boring. I guess they were trying to pass off realistc fights but the all they do is make dull action sequences. All stone cold does is block and throw two body punches…thats it (just like how he wrestled haha.) I thought with the introduction of that asian guy we might see some crazy karate *beep* but no. The only thing the asian guy does its a handstand when hes screwing around with the knives he found. Nathan Jones the big guy was greatly under used, he didn’t do *beep* Watch Jones in the Tony Jai movie "The Protector" thats how you use a big guy. Overall the fight scenes were unimaginative, unrealistic and unkool.

Finally the ending, the death of the Vinnie Jones. Stone cold shoots him, thats it. No huge fist fight, no spectacular death just shot a couple of times. I think that he was the real bad guy and deserved a super death, others will argue that its in tone with the gritty realism of the film but to hell with that, all WWE films aren’t supposed gritty real, they should be more like those action packed crazy 80’s films.

Hopefully that new Triple H film will be better now that its in the hands of 80’s director John Milius but if its just like the condemned they should just quit making films and leave all the *beep* acting to Mr McMahon on RAW every monday night.

This film is total garbage, aimed squarely at the brain dead audience.

A totally ridiculous plot. With performances that can only be described as laughable. The script was so cheesy, it could have been improved, had a five year old had written it.

Steve Austin could not act as a wrestler. So his selection for this role is a mystery.(Yes. I,m aware it,s a W.W.F film.)

Vinnie Jones did his usual(only)type of performance.

As for those in the "control room." The worst collection of so called actors I,ve seen for years.

And the idea that there just happens to be TWO Special Forces guys thrown against each other. Durh ! My only surprise is that one of them. Obviously not the American. Was not Russian.Iraqi.Afghan. Or even Korean.

Sadly, I wasted irretrievable time sitting through it.

If you have not yet watched this, you,re lucky. I,d advise you to retain that luck, and avoid this junk.

the plot ideas good, but everything about it was just bad story writing

    the women ruined the film

so much was drawn out and boring

    they needed much more action.

Special forces or Ex-special forces (I didn’t realize so many people in the world were ex special forces)

Lives out in the country, wilderness, or Texas

    Drives a truck

Doesn’t smile, smiling is for women and kids

Has a girlfriend/wife, but is just too damn manly to be with her so they are usually separated and she is with a guy who is the total opposite. Which drives him nuts. But we all know she really has feelings for him.

Only kills when the govt tells him to, or he is forced to by the bad guy, then he does it with no objection or remorse. Feelings are for women and kids.

His only character fault is that he is too rough around the edges. He says what is on his mind and other people have a hard time dealing with him.

He always does the right thing, even if he is a trained assassin for the govt. who has probably murdered tons of people in the name of whoever gave his orders.

The side job of action heroes is to put obnoxious people in their place.

Sometime during the movie, he must explain to the girlfriend/wife that he does care about her and would like nothing better than to be with her. But he is in this situation and he has a duty to do/bad guy to kill/principle to stand up for/herd to rustle up and bring back home.

When someone says his name when he is walking away. He has to stop, pause, then turn his head to the side. Where you can only see his back and the profile of his face. Then his reply is short or not at all.

He likes cars, engines, guns, and animals that can do a lot of bodily harm. Horses are the exception.

He sometimes has a drinking problem, but he can kick it anytime and addiction has no hold over him b/c he is so tough.

He is usually taken advantage of by some politician/bureaucrat/boss/warden/obnoxious TV producer/seductress because that person doesn’t operate on the same manly code of laws that he does. But he still overcomes in the end.

When the black girl was shot in the back with the arrow. I dunno about you lot but I was gunning for her after she got two people. Even though she only did it to save Conrad but still, they’d be better working together although she had the arrow in her back and I suppose they’d know he’s not dead. But anyway, still she put up a good fight. If you could choose, who would of liked to have… ‘won’.

This movie has all sorts of racist things in it. Black/Asian woman backstabbing guy, then blowing herself up.

All Mexican’s killed off, 1 early, 2 tortured badly.

Jap guy being a lapdog and ball licker to Jone’s.

And the worst part, was with the Arab bit. They built up something that might have been decent, only to have the guy say *beep* the Arab" and bring Steve on to replace him.

Racist pile of dog *beep* this was.
